Summertime and the Churchin' Is Easy

This is the church we go to, Grace Episcopal Church.  The building style is part Spanish Hacienda and part industrial loft. Our Sunday Schools do not meet during the summer and I will miss them tremendously.  Most of our discussions are open and free-wheeling, much of it centered around the videos and writings of Rob Bell.  Our regular services continue.

This is the interior of our church.  It is very beautiful, but it is certainly not a mega-church.  I think we would be very full at between 100 to 125 people. Our services are centered around the Eucharist (the Lord's Supper).  I love how all Christians are welcome at God's table, from all walks of life.  Our summer services start at 10 AM, BUT contemporary music that is fun and easy to sing along to will begin at 9:45. If you have been wondering where you might fit in at a church, and have been looking for more friendly, open possibilities, then this is the church for you.

Of course, no church is complete without people.  This is a group of us at the Southeast Cancer Society's walk on Friday night, where we sold different glow in the dark devices, and donated the money to the charity.  They are a great and friendly bunch of people.  I stand at the left end, and get confirmed that, at least for me, the camera does indeed add about 75 pounds.
