Ripping Good Yarns: Vote for Basic Cable AND Premium/Streaming Drama!!!

It's TWO!
TWO!
TWO separate awards to vote for!

Vote for as many as you like, but your vote will be fractioned so that you get ONE vote per award!

Award #1:  Basic Cable Drama!  Vote for your favorites!  Heck, if you haven't seen any of them, vote for the one you would most like to watch someday!

American Horror Story (FX)  - the third season of this show was set at a coven of witches in New Orleans.  More twist and turns than you can imagine, and first rate acting by many, especially Jessica Lange.

Breaking Bad (AMC) -  I was slow to start this series (school teacher turned drug dealer?), but I came around in a hurry.  Bryan Cranston portrays Walter White, a man of incomparable evil, a meticulous and methodical genius.  I must add none of this story would have happened if it had taken place in Canada (oh, how am I going to pay for my cancer treatments?  I'll have turn to a life of crime!..oh, wait...we have universal healthcare...never mind).

Orphan Black (BBC America) is a new addiction at the Strait household.  Tatiana Maslaney is brilliant in multiple (and I do mean MULTIPLE) roles!

Twisted (ABC Family) - I haven't seen this, but it did get a thumbs up from our nominators.  From IMDb - A teen with a troubled past reconnects with his two female best friends from childhood.  He becomes the prime suspect when a fellow student is surprisingly found dead in her home.

The Walking Dead (AMC) - there is a reason this is the most watched drama on television.  It's that good.  And a local up and coming actress, Kennedy Brice, had a role in it!  This is central, must see TV for Alison and me.  About way more than zombies, it has some of the best characters on television.

Award #2 - Premium/Streaming Drama!.....yes, many of these you haven't seen because you may not have the pay channel or streaming service that shows them.  But again, vote for your favorite, even if it's just one you think you might want to see someday.

Game of Thrones (HBO) - first rate adaption of my favorite book series.  Storytelling that is not afraid of GOING THERE, time and again.  Epic scale, but intimate characters.  This will have you on the edge of your seat, and your jaw dropping.

Homeland (Showtime)  - I have only seen a few episodes, but I am highly intrigued and hope to see more.  Very timely show, particularly with recent events. Hear that, Netflix?  Stream it, please!

The Newsroom  (HBO) - great series showing the news broadcast sausage being made.  Set with real events as the backdrop, Jeff Daniels makes for a compelling center for a very interesting show.

Orange is the New Black (Netflix) - Oh, yez!  There's a new kid on the block - I suspect more and more streaming shows will make this list in the future.  We've seen most of  the first season....much more than a Women In Prison drama....a great study of individual characters and how they grow, change and adapt.

True Blood (HBO) - a real Southern Gothic supernatural extravaganza!  One more season this summer until it BITES the dust!

There you go, my fellow Rippers!  Now the voting is up to you!

oh, boy!  oh, joy!  i can hardly wait!
