Nicker in the Wind
by Kaitlyn Thigpen
Thy feathers floating in the breeze,
Thy coat is like brown suede,
Thy nicker is a lasting plea,
To save the last goodbye we bade,
Thou muscles strong and tender,
Thou bones rigid and thick,
Ready for whatever you send her,
For her joints move swiftly and quick,
But now it is time to bid your goodbye,
And now is time for us to bid our bade,
As you canter into the sky,
As your silhouette starts to fade,
Your Caribbean sea blue eyes,
Seemed to say all goodbyes,
Thou hooves begin to disappear,
And your scent no longer leers.
